Spis Regional Development Agency (SRDA) is a associaton of legal entities, non-profit organization, registered in the register of interest associations at Regional Court in Košice on 27 September, 1996, established by the Decree Nr. 96/95 of the Government of the Slovak republic.


The bodies of the association are as follows:
  • General Assembly
  • Board of Directors
  • Managing Director of Agency

Memorandum of the Association has been signed on September 12, 1996 by:

  • Government of the Slovak republic, represented by the Institute of Strategy of Society, Science and Technique Development, Bratislava
  • Association for Development of the Spiš region, associating public and private institutions.

The mission and responsibilities of the agency as agreed in the Statute of the association are focused on implementation of tasks of regional policy in order to stimulate economical and social development of the region and to erase inter-regional disparities, and this by providing information, counseling and support, by design and implementation of regional development projects, by expert and practicable advice in the field of establishment, supplier industries, environment, etc.

In 2000, by the Decree of Government of the Slovak republic Nr. 738/2000 on Establishment of the Integrated Network of Regional Development Agencies, SRDA became a part of the network, supported by the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction of the Slovak republic, and having been functionning within this framework until nowadays..
